Mike leverages his 20-year career in product development to transform napkin sketches into user-centric products that improve lives. He achieves this through strategic collaboration: partnering with innovators for insights, working alongside expert engineers and scientists to bring ideas to life, and gleaning valuable market understanding from marketing leaders. This collaborative approach, honed through working with leaders across diverse MedTech and product fields (implants, peripheral vascular products, electrosurgical instruments, robotics, lighting, and drug delivery), has led to the creation of strong intellectual property and successful products.

Zach Conrad
Principal Designer + Partner
Zach is a design leader and product innovator with 24+ years of experience across diverse areas like Industrial Design and DFM. He excels in creative problem-solving, cost-effective design, and 3D visualization, ensuring efficient product development. Zach also supports intellectual property deployment and fosters collaborative innovation within his teams. His expertise guides products from concept to manufacturing, driving impactful solutions in the ever-changing product landscape.

Keith Sproat
Lead Project Engineer
Keith brings 12 years of experience guiding Class I, II, and III medical devices from initial concept to commercial launch. A Northeastern University engineering graduate, he combines hands-on CAD modeling, rapid prototyping, and DFM expertise with strict ISO 13485/14971 and FDA DHF compliance. Keith excels at leading cross-functional teams to translate novel design concepts into market-ready medical devices.

Aaron Treat
Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer II
Aaron is a results-driven mechanical engineer with a proven track record in innovating and developing impactful medical devices. With 15 years of experience in the industry, he has a deep understanding of biomechanical design, prototyping, manufacturing engineering, quality control, and FDA regulations. Aaron is passionate about creating solutions that improve patient outcomes and has successfully contributed to numerous projects from concept to commercialization. His expertise in product development, combined with his strong technical skills and collaborative approach, make him a valuable part of the K1C team.

Galen Roda
Mechanical Design Engineer III
Galen is a dedicated and accomplished engineer specializing in the design, manufacturing, and improvement of products. Galen has contributed significantly to the development of new products both in industry and at University of Colorado where she led pivotal research on the effects of transfemoral socket prosthesis on hip biomechanics, published papers in prestigious journals, and won multiple awards for her presentations. During her studies, she was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate Student in both the Mechanical and overall Engineering Department and obtained SolidWorks Associate certification in 2020.

John Cunningham
Mechanical Design Engineer II
​John is a driven Mechanical Engineer with a strong foundation in design, simulation, and product development. With experience ranging from R&D on cutting-edge thermal technology to developing consumer and medical products, John excels at translating client needs into innovative solutions. His skills in CAD, testing, and manufacturing, combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving, make him a valuable asset in any engineering environment.

Cassie Wong
Mechanical Design Engineer I
Cassie has a strong foundation in biomechanics, medical device development, and hands-on manufacturing. During her tenure at K1C Consulting, she has specialized in design, assembly, and testing. Her design expertise is backed by a high level of proficiency in CAD design, including experience performing FEA, DFM, and additive manufacturing. Cassie combines technical rigor with a collaborative approach to drive creative engineering solutions.
